Grace Lightman’s November Gig Guide: Swing, Folk, Punk and Indie Rock in Plymouth

This November, Plymouth Music Ambassador Grace Lightman is back with another killer lineup of live music events you won’t want to miss. From vintage swing and Cornish folk dancing to punk chaos and a major UK band playing an intimate show — the month is full of musical contrast and energy.

Here are Grace’s top picks to keep you moving, moshing, or swaying this autumn.

14 November – The Hot House Combo @ B-Bar

Put on your dancing shoes and head to B-Bar for an upbeat, swing-inspired night with The Hot House Combo. Drawing from the sounds of the 1920s, 30s and 40s, their toe-tapping, feel-good set is perfect for swing fans, jazz lovers, and dancers of all kinds — and it’s only £3 to get in.

15 November – Nos Lowen @ Café Momus

It doesn’t get more joyfully grassroots than this: an evening of Cornish folk dancing hosted at Café Momus. Live music comes from Bagas Fellyon and Seaweed in the Fruitlocker, with a friendly crowd and a dancefloor open to all abilities. Nos Lowen means “happy night” in Cornish — and that’s exactly what’s promised.

21 November – The Hunna @ The Depo

Big UK indie rock band The Hunna are making a surprise stop in Plymouth as part of their latest tour — and they’re playing a more intimate venue than usual. This is a chance to catch stadium-worthy sound in a much smaller space, up close and loud.

22 November – The Bus Station Loonies' Last Gig @ Leadworks

After 25 years of glorious chaos, anarchic Plymouth punk icons The Bus Station Loonies are playing their final ever gig — and they’re going out in style. Support comes from local favourites like Spoils Collective and Wags to Wytches, plus more TBA. Expect DIY spirit, community energy and a night to remember.
