Grace Lightman’s Gig Guide: April Picks in Plymouth

Spring is here, and Plymouth’s live music scene is in full swing. Our Music Ambassador Grace Lightman is back with her April picks — a mix of DJ-led dance floors, grassroots indie nights, and community-driven gigs that showcase the depth and diversity of music happening across the city.

From The Hoe to hidden venues and houseplant-filled stages, here’s where to be this April:

5 April – Amenity DJ Night @ The Terrace

Sonar presents a night built for the dancefloor, with headline DJ Charlie Price leading the charge. Expect a high-energy set in one of Plymouth’s best-loved seaside venues, with big sounds and even bigger views across the Hoe. A perfect way to kick off April.

17 April – COSM + Worms Worms Worms + Slimy Girls @ The Underground

Sweet Jeans Promotions returns with another stacked bill. Headliners COSM are joined by the brilliantly named Worms Worms Worms and local favourites Slimy Girls for a night of experimental, genre-blurring sounds. Expect big energy and a crowd that knows its music.

25 April – Calvin Thomas + Jack Cookson @ Nook Houseplants

A more intimate offering to close out the month. Calvin Thomas and Jack Cookson perform at Nook Houseplants — one of Plymouth’s most unique venues — for a stripped-back evening of live music. Proceeds from the night go to Shekinah, supporting people experiencing homelessness in the city.
