Feel the Rhythm of the World – Live in Plymouth!

A vibrant night of global beats, cultural connection, and summer celebration – only at Home Park Stadium

This August, get ready to dance, connect, and celebrate the music that unites us all. Sounds of the World is a one-night-only open-air music event in Plymouth that brings together three incredible international acts for a joyful celebration of culture, rhythm, and community.

Hosted by Pogo Events, Plymouth’s much-loved music promoter known for curating diverse and uplifting sounds, Sounds of the World is more than just a gig – it’s a living, breathing celebration of the global music scene, right in the heart of the South West.

Why World Music Matters

World music invites us to step outside our comfort zones and into the joyful unknown. It tells stories across borders, passed down through generations and reimagined for today’s dancefloors. In a time where division often dominates the headlines, events like Sounds of the World offer something radically different – connection, community, and celebration.

By experiencing music from different cultures, we open ourselves up to new ways of feeling, thinking, and being. Whether it’s the pulse of Afrobeat, the soul of reggae, or the call of traditional folk instruments reimagined through electronic beats, world music taps into something universal: joy.

Pogo Events have made it their mission to bring that joy to Plymouth – not just for seasoned music lovers, but for families, newcomers, and curious listeners alike.

A Lineup That Spans Continents

This year’s lineup is nothing short of spectacular:

  • Afriquoi – A London-based five-piece that fuse African instruments with UK club sounds like house, jungle, and garage. Think infectious kora melodies, driving percussion, and a dancefloor energy that’s impossible to resist.

  • Florence Adooni – Hailing from Ghana’s Upper East Region, Florence is known for her soaring vocals and her magnetic fusion of traditional Frafra gospel with psychedelic funk and Afro grooves. A rare and powerful performer bringing her music to Plymouth for the first time.

  • Da Fuchaman & His Fire Blaze Band – With roots in Jamaica and a homegrown Bristol following, Da Fuchaman brings conscious lyrics, high-energy reggae, and a full 10-piece band guaranteed to light up the night. This is festival fire you won’t want to miss.

More Than a Gig – A Night to Remember

The show takes place at the Home Park Stadium Fan Zone, a large, open-air venue that offers plenty of space to dance, gather, and soak in the summer evening atmosphere. There’ll be food and drink on site, space to move, and a sense of celebration in the air.

Pogo Events are deeply committed to accessibility. With ticket prices starting from just £10, free entry for carers, and BSL interpreting provided by the brilliant team at Complete Communication, this is a night made for everyone.

“We wanted to create a space where everyone feels welcome – where the music brings us together, no matter where we’re from,” says Shelley, founder of Pogo Events.
