Stoke Community Poem Project

  • Stoke Youth & Community Centre Masterman Road Plymouth, England, PL2 1BJ United Kingdom (map)

Over the autumn 2025, twenty-five businesses and organisations contributed a line of poetry, which Plymouth Laureate of Words R.C. Thomas drew up on a 1m x 1m canvas along with bespoke doodles. Altogether, these lines make up one big community poem.

We invite you all to join us on Saturday 21st February, 7pm - 9pm, at Stoke Youth and Community Centre where we shall reveal the canvas. It will then begin its journey around the village with participating businesses each taking a turn to host it in their premises.

Also on display, a selection of blackout poems created by members of the community using Stoke news articles dating back to the 1930s.

Entry is free (no booking required) and there will be refreshments. This will be a great opportunity to meet and connect with your members of the community.
