Native Makers Lucceting Workshop: Create a Handmade Friendship Bracelet

  • Market Hall Plymouth Duke Street Plymouth, England, PL1 4PS United Kingdom (map)

Discover the ancient art of lucetting and learn how to create your own beautiful friendship bracelet at the Native Makers Winter Market.

Using a traditional wooden tool called a lucet, you'll be guided through this historic weaving technique that dates back to the Viking era. Once used to create practical and decorative cords, lucetting is a mindful and rewarding craft that has been enjoyed for centuries.

Led by Cornwall-based textile artist and workshop tutor Lorraine England, this hands-on session is perfect for beginners and those curious about traditional crafts. Working with natural and recycled fibres, you'll learn the basics of lucetting and create a unique friendship bracelet to take home.

Lorraine has been teaching lucetting for over a decade and is passionate about sustainable making, sharing not only the craft itself but also the stories behind the materials she uses.
