Ahoy! Join Plymouth Laureate of Words, R.C. Thomas on a journey of Plymouth Sound to explore mythologies, folktales and legends.
Taking inspiration from the sea and the tales that have come before us, in this collaborative and immersive workshop, we’ll set about writing our very own tale, sharing our experiences with future generations of the creatures lurking in the deep here in Plymouth’s waters in 2026.
Beginning onshore, you’ll be briefed and allocated tasks to collect all the evidence we’ll need to document our sea-faring encounters, before heading out on a boat around the Sound. Back on shore, we’ll look over our findings, putting them in order to share with the public.
This workshop will lead to a live event in 2027 in which our tale will be told. This part will be optional and will also be open to others joining us to tell our story.
Meeting at the Royal William Yard Marina, the schedule will be:
Onshore workshop at Royal William Yard 4pm – 4.45pm
Boat Trip 4.45pm – 5.45pm
