Blackout Poetry Workshop

  • Stoke Youth and Community Centre Masterman Road Plymouth, England, PL2 1BJ United Kingdom (map)

Join Plymouth Laureate of Words R.C. Thomas and The Village Hub at Stoke Youth and Community Centre for an evening of discovering, reigniting and reinventing the stories of Stoke’s community.

Using found text, including print and online newspaper stories dating as far back as 1934, we will bring new life to bygone community news and events. This will be a laid-back, activity-based workshop designed for all ages and abilities, including children. If you’ve never written poetry before, don’t panic, you will hardly write a thing. Think of this as more of an arts and crafts evening with the addition of words already written for you!

Please arrive on time to avoid missing out on introductory activities and instructions. Resources and refreshments provided.

This is a FREE event, but we’d appreciate it if you could confirm your attendance via the form here.

Please do this for each individual attending. In doing so, you’ll be entered into a draw to win a one-hour, one-to-one creative writing session with R.C. Thomas, suitable for all ages and abilities (so please register your child too), and tailored to your needs. You must attend to be eligible:
